राजस्थान की प्राचीन सभ्यताएं पुरातत्ववेत्ताओं के अनुसार राजस्थान का इतिहास पूर्व पाषाण काल से प्रारंभ होता है। आज से करीब एक लाख वर्ष पहले मनुष्य मुख्यतः बनास नदी के किनारे या अरावली के उस पार की नदियों के किनारे निवास करता था। आदिम मनुष्य अपने पत्थर के औजारों की मदद से भोजन की तलाश में हमेशा एक स्थान से दूसरे स्थान को जाते रहते थे, इन औजारों के कुछ नमूने बैराठ, रैध और भानगढ़ के आसपास पाए गए हैं। प्राचीनकाल में उत्तर-पश्चिमी राजस्थान में वैसा मरुस्थल नहीं था जैसा वह आज है। इस क्षेत्र से होकर सरस्वती और दृशद्वती जैसी विशाल नदियां बहा करती थीं। इन नदी घाटियों में हड़प्पा, ‘ग्रे-वैयर’ और रंगमहल जैसी संस्कृतियां फली-फूलीं। यहां की गई खुदाइयों से खासकर कालीबंग के पास, पांच हजार साल पुरानी एक विकसित नगर सभ्यता का पता चला है। हड़प्पा, ‘ग्रे-वेयर’ और रंगमहल संस्कृतियां सैकडों दक्षिण तक राजस्थान के एक बहुत बड़े इलाके में फैली हुई थीं। कालीबंगा सभ्यता जिला – हनुमानगढ़ नदी – सरस्वती(वर्तमान की घग्घर) समय – 3000 ईसा पूर्व से 1750 ईसा पूर्व तक। राजस्थान की सबसे पुराणी सभ्यता काल – ताम्र युगीन ...
